Kia Optima Grabs 2 AJAC Awards

     The new 2011 Kia Optima has taken gold in two categories in the annual awards voting of the Automobile Journalists of Canada (AJAC).

     In the under $30,000 category, the Optima beat out competitors from Chev, Chrysler, Toyota, Mazda & Volkswagen. In the over $30,000 category, the Optima Hybrid bested entrants from Chev, Dodge, Hyundai, Mini & Toyota.

     These achievements are the latest in a long list of nods for this exciting new sedan. Other awards this year for the Optima include the "red dot" award, "best of the best", Ward's 10 best interiors", "Top Safety Pick" from the IIHS, "Five Star Crash Safety Rating" from NHTSA, and "rookie of the year".

     Both vehicles now advance to the next step and a chance for the coveted "Canadian Car Of The Year", which will be announced at the Canadian International Auto Show in Toronto this coming February.

     We might be inclined to say "wish us luck", but based on the way the industry insiders are recognizing the outstanding value, styling & quality of the Optima, we don't think we need it.
